Dr Alek Pogosyan

Senior Postdoctoral Scientist

Alek Pogosyan graduated in Physics from Yerevan State University, Armenia, in 1986. He completed his PhD in Human Physiology from Sechenov Institute of Evolutionary Physiology and Biochemistry, Russia, in 1996. He joined Peter Brown’s group in 2001, and since then has been critical in many projects, and led pioneering projects on transcranial alternating current stimulation and the effect of the spatial extent of subcortical synchronisation and symptoms in Parkinson’s disease. Alek is particularly interested in extending the evidence base that pathological oscillations may underpin different aspects of disease.
