Dr. Chiara Toschi

Post-doctoral Neuroscientist

Chiara Toschi joined the laboratory of Prof. Andrew Sharott in 2024 as part of a collaborative project with Prof. Mark Walton’s group, investigating the neural correlates of effort-based decision-making. Her research interests center on understanding the neural circuits that regulate both normal and abnormal behaviour.

Chiara completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge under the supervision of Prof. Jeff Dalley and Prof. Trevor Robbins, where she focused on the brain mechanisms underlying impulsivity. This work was strongly grounded in behavioural and pharmacological approaches. Motivated to broaden her methodological expertise, she joined the Sharott lab to develop circuit-level techniques and pursue a more integrative approach to studying the neural basis of behaviour.
