An exciting opportunity for a graduate Research Assistant to implement a programme of research with Dr Jill O’Reilly (Department of Experimental Psychology) and Dr Helen Barron (MRC Brain Network Dynamics Unit). The research involves investigating the neural mechanisms that underlie memory storage and recall in the healthy human brain.

The duties of this Research Assistant will include recruiting volunteers to participate in research studies, organising ethics documents and safety screening procedures, carrying out behavioural studies and data/statistical analysis. The post holder may also assist with acquisition and analysis of fMRI and MR Spectroscopy data.

The successful candidate will hold a strong first degree in a relevant discipline, be motivated to work with non-clinical populations, and have excellent communication and organisational skills. They will also have sufficient specialist knowledge in the discipline to work within established research programmes. Research experience and experience with MRI data collection, computer programming skills and knowledge of statistics are an advantage.

This is a full-time fixed-term post of 12 months, at University Grade 6 (06S) with a starting salary of between £29,614 and £35,326 per annum.
